Katie's visa run & Wli Falls...

This past weekend, we traveled to the Volta Region to renew Katie's visa and see Wli Falls. Saturday morning began with a 10 minute walk to the Togo border...

After filling out paper work (one very short form) that caused the border agent "much suffering" (in her words), we walked across the border to the first Togoalese village...

In this village, we made some friends with the locals...One of the young girls told Burt that he was the first white man she had ever seen...

After about an hour, we walked back across the border to Ghana. Needless to say, the border agent was not so thrilled that we were back so soon...

Next, we started our hike to Wli Falls...

Wli Falls {lower pool}...

Then, we hiked about 2 hours up to the upper falls...it was well worth the difficult climb...

On our way back down, we randomly ran into one of our good friends--Asiome. It was a very fun surprise. He also pointed out the thousands of bats, next to the waterfall, that we had not even noticed...

The weekend ended with our walk to catch a shared taxi {7 of us in a Nissan Maxima type car}, then tro-tro back to Accra...
